Art Deco Building Rye Lane Peckham London

Art Deco Building Rye Lane Peckham London

I’m not 100% sure, but I think this building is called Pelican House.Rye Lane is a real mish mash of architecture .A very popular department store at the top of Rye Lane called Jones & Higgins opened at the turn of the century and has ended its life as a night club,Peckham Palais. There are Georgian buildings alongside Victorian and Edwardian.Art Deco and Art Nouveau can also be seen.Unfortunately, they are all in different degrees of deterioration which is a shame. In the middle of Rye Lane there is a covered market which was also a department store. If you go inside you are still able to see a small part of the layout of the store and the shop counters which are still in use by the current stall holders.Chttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peckhamlick on links to read more.
