Garage 1920s Page St SW1

I cant make out the writing but I would hazard a guess that it was a working garage in the 1920s.The chequered flats to the right belong to the Duke of Westminster. In the 1920’s during the early hours of the morning,Page Street was flooded by the Thames, which came creeping up Horseferry Rd taking occupants completely unaware as many were sleeping.A resident from that time told me that after the flood waters had gone and the flats were repainted,a tide line would reappear every year,a constant reminder of what happened on that fateful night.Click on link to read what happened.
